Nintendo's thoughts on Homebrew..
so i emailed nintendo asking them wth is homebrew bassicaly and they said:
Hello,
We do not have information on how to remove the homebrew modifications you have installed. Because this Wii console has been modified using homebrew software , I need to let you know that if you should ever have a problem with it—no matter what the warranty status might be—we will be unable to repair it. Because we do not repair modified Wii consoles, your only option will be purchasing a new or previously-played system. Any downloaded content on the original console would likely be lost.
The reason for this is hardware and software modifications involve the use of products that have not been licensed or tested by Nintendo. Because of this, we cannot know the complete impact these modifications have had on the system. It's also important to note that once a system is modified, we have no way of getting it back to its original state, even if you were to remove the software. For this reason, we have no way of guaranteeing the system will be compatible with future updates and products.
now obislvy i know what hbc is seeing how my wii is hacked and working fine.. but i think i might virgin it (delte hbc)
iunno your thoughts?

Re: Nintendo's thoughts on Homebrew..
Nintendo shouldn't even care about the Homebrew, we do as we please with our Wii's (that sounded wrong . . .) as we bought them. We clearly have the rights to do anything to them (such as hacking them). They shouldn't mind it as it might give them more people to buy the Wii to hack it for themselves (but it also can lead to bricking which isn't an option)
Re: Nintendo's thoughts on Homebrew..
The only reason we hack our wii is to get the legal function that nintendo isnt currently providing like dvd playback, region free gaming, themes, patches to games like brawl +, getting rid of friend code using wii connect and last bootmii which boot your whole system so If you do something stupid you can return in back to normal reccomended to all hacker.
btw dont lumb us in with those conduit hackers

But you do realize that homebrew allows you to STEAL from nintendo. Yes...STEAL from nintendo. They download games for free online and use homebrew to play them. Nintendo is probably losing thousands to millions of dollars constantly because of homebrew. They should care. They should care a lot.

there's a difference between backuploader and HomeBrew. homebrew lets you download exclusive UGC to your Wii. Backuploader lets your Wii be able to run burnt games (i never use this). I never hacked my Wii to steal money from Nintendo; nor is that what I'm doing by using Homebrew. i hacked my wii to play indie UGC. if that is illegal, then so be it. however, if Nintendo would just set up it's own legal channel on the wii that would let people play/upload the UGC for free without needing to hack your wii, then i would do that instead. however, for now the only way to get the UGC on the Homebrew channel is by hacking my Wii. besides, for now hackers can't play burnt games unless they downgrade their wii to an older firmware update.

within 5 days the hackers had already found a new way to hack the wii again. hackers will always be a few steps ahead of Nintendo.

Re: Nintendo's thoughts on Homebrew..
I like the hackers who expand to the game for amusment (Brawl mods, Halo 3 modded maps and etc)
I hate the modders who mod in a competitive match, like The Conduit.

It's not completely dead yet, but it's on the verge. I can't find a match until I "Search for any players" now. But the hackers are pratically gone. Now to get the guys who like to glitch...JakeBanfield wrote:Tcons dead now anywayz.. game hacking is stupid anyway
