in past generations and this one I never thought about going back to 2D. I always thought 3D was the best and going back and making a game 2D was the most foolish thing a developer could do. then I saw this game a action packed side scrolling adventure and lets not forget how beautiful it all is. after I saw the previews I had to have it so I got it, popped it in and my eyes popped out of my sockets.Shocked
the game is beautifully made from the characters to the backgrounds. the art is in lack of words breath taking, the animations are nice and the fighting is fierce and fast. best of all the game is fun!
in case you haven't heard yet you can choose between two different stories one about a girl named Momohime who is possessed by a evil spirit and the other about a boy named Kisuke who has forgotten his past. both stories are good but the way they are presented isnt the best most of the time you only hear about the story is before and after boss fights which gets the job done. the cast for the voice acting is all Japanese and you can tell too because thats the only language they speak. I actually liked how they did that it made the game feel a little more realistic.
as you progress through the game you collect souls which allows you to forge new blades. getting a new sword was always fun for me I always wanted to see what its special attack was. your swords will often break in this game all you have to do to fix it is put it back in its sheath and let it heal. this could get annoying sometimes but it also makes the game a little more challenging. there are a lot of different enemy types to kill they range from ninjas to black ninjas to white ninjas to bomb ninjas to.... yes there are a lot of ninjas but in all seriousness there are anuff enemy types to keep the game play fresh and exciting. the bosses in the game are huge too I loved it!
I only had one or two problems with the game one is sometimes there wouldn't be anyone to fight. the other problem I had was you could go to a hot spring in the game when you went there it healed you and other times you went there and it healed you but this time around it had a girl without clothes in the spring with(no it dosnt show anything yu, pervs) you around that time my mom would always walk into my room.Embarassed

so all in all I think this game deserves a 9.0

Get it, it's one of the most beautiful games this generation and plays pretty good. Everything is all hand-drawn.

Honestly, I'd give it more of an 8.5, I feel a 9 is a little generous. Honestly though, this game is beautiful! Your review could of been a little better organized also, instead of just being one huge paragraph, or at least it seems to be one paragraph. Use the tab key when starting a new paragraph.

I played through Momohime's story, but the game was so repetitive that I could not play through the other. Beautiful game though. Worth a rent in my eyes.

i GOT the game, worth every penny, i love it, the story i like and is very yokai influenced if u dont know what yokai is its japanese stories usually narrative art like manga form that center around mythological stuff liek ghosts and demons and the graphic nature of being a samurai and there is about i think 180 swords? in the game, the fighting NEVER gets old, its one of the best games ive played this gen, plus i love how the characters are overpowered xD and momohime is so sexy~, definite buy

- The game is VERY RAD .
but this gets a C from me .

Because, even though the fighting is great, it remains THE SAME through THE WHOLE GAME .

This game has no replay value . what so ever .

the game has tons of replay value, contrary to mainstream reviews.
6 endings, 3 difficultys, 90+ levels to reach, 100+ swords, and 2 different stories.
support a smaller developer, buy the game!

Yeah, but doing the same thing over and over again isn't that fun for me.

well you gave it a deserving score. Those other guys have it a C for the repetitiveness. It doesn't kill the game, it takes like a point off
