I feel your pain. You probably got 3 rings. I got 1 and it's still deadlyDarrien wrote:Tonight I was playing MW2 my 360 suddenly frose and this checkerboard pattern that was red on my screen poped up , I turned off my console then turnt it back on it was ok I then started the game again and soon as I got in the match BAM! it freezes again I turn it off and turn it back on RROD NOOO NOOO NOOO NOO!!!

Your in luck, because I know 'em alldarkwingdragon709 wrote:i feel so sorry for you guys. i never had to go through this stuff. what is it thats makin this happen?...that way i can make sure i NEVER get red ring.
1 RED RING: Your console can't load the data from your Harddrive. This happens when you put your Harddrive in another Xbox, if the disc reader in your HDD isn't working properly, (YOUR HDD IS A SMALLER GAMECUBE DISC WITH A DISC READER! =0) or if the disc is damaged or dirty. Cost to get repaired is $100 online and $120 through the phone.
Common Error Code: E68.
2 RED RINGS: System is overheating. Stop playing (it will force you to stop anywho), and remove HDD so it doesn't get corrupted (can lead to 1 Red Ring).
Common Error Code: ???
3 RED RINGS: Your system is broken. You can do the Hot Towel trick, but don't tell Microsoft that, or they will void your warranty. Don't bother calling Customer Support; the first thing you hear is that if you have this error, get it repaired, no questions asked. Console usually freezes, or turns off by itself in some cases.
Common Error Code: E74
4 RED RINGS: Your AV cables are either unplugged or damaged. Most cases, it's unplugged. Plug 'em back in and boom, it's gone. If it's damaged, you have to buy a new one.
There isn't an Error Code.

No! Make sure it's not too cold. That's how ours (my friend and I) broke. We went through a snowstorm with no heat (it broke during the storm) and it was 57 degrees in his room and 50 deg downstairs. We got 3 Rings but since his has an internal memory unit, he got his fixed the next day. I got mine fixed and got 1 Ring right after that.darkwingdragon709 wrote:...hmmm. 2&3 may never have happened cause i live in a cold basement. i remember havin an 8-10hr marathon on mass effect once, and my 360 was barely warm. as far as 1&4, i never remove my HDD, and my AV cords have yet to give.

Farenheit. Ours were standing up on carpet, so that most likely contributed to our problemJade789119 wrote:MetaSmashBro wrote:No! Make sure it's not too cold. That's how ours (my friend and I) broke. Re: RED RING OF DEATH!!!
If it was in Celsius the 360 would have RRoD'd from melting, not from cold...

Re: RED RING OF DEATH!!!
There is way's to prevent the 360 from overheating, which prevent's RROD.
And it's all in the instruction manuel's if you look closely.
If anyone want's to know how to prevent it,PM me.
I have played Mass Effect 2 constantly for 2 week's in a row and my 360 didnt overheat once.
i know how to keep your 360 cool and how to prevent disk scratching and RROD.

Re: RED RING OF DEATH!!!
It will happen to you more likely if you dont have a Jasper 360.The Jasper Chip has decreased Failure rate under 10 percent. If you dont beleive me,Tradesquare and other site's have studied it.
