i would choose the first castlevania. my reason: it's fun, challenging, and has a very good soundtrack. a must buy for every castlevania fan

other than that, i would narrow the list to super c, life force, and gradius. the one's you listed are good titles though. i wouldn't recommend castlevania 2 though

If you have to pick one, get Castlevania. The ones you MUST get at some point are Castlevania 1-3, Kid Icarus, Ninja Gaiden 1-3, and Super C. Star Tropics is good, but not absolutely amazing.

Do you have super mario bros 3? if not get that before everything else! then get castlevania 1-3
