How to Safely Install CIOSCORP Empty How to Safely Install CIOSCORP

HI, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR WII!

How to Safely Install CIOSCORP

Definition: Cioscorp - A program that allows the launching of backups from the disc channel.

This works on LU64 Wiis.

Note: In the event that anything goes wrong, I am not to blame in any way. Do this at your own risk.

In this guide, I will explain what must be done to successfully install CIOSCORP without any chance of brick.
CIOSCORP can be installed on any wii version, but a series of steps must be followed in order to prevent problems.
CIOSCORP is not a program for NOOBS, and if you are a NOOB, you must not follow this guide.
If you want to install CIOSCORP without screwing anything up, please consider the following:

#1
BootMii and / or Preloader

Before you begin, you must have bootmii installed.
Preferably, install it as Boot2, but if you are unable to, due to having a newer wii, please install it as an IOS.

How to Install BootMii
To install bootmii on 4.1 or less, download these files:

For 4.1 or lower
http://rapidshare.com/files/296096724/SD_bootmii.rar
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=H3LFKKMR

For 4.2
http://rapidshare.com/files/29609797...ootmii_4.2.rar
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=LPF8ZKWA

Then copy over the "private" and "boot.elf" files to the root of the SD card.
Then put it in the wii, and go to: wii settings - data management - channels - SD card, and then bannerbomb will launch. From there you can install bootmii, using common sense.

To install bootmii on 4.2, download the 4.2 files, and copy over the "private" and "boot.elf" files to the root of the SD card.
Then put it in the wii, and go to: SD Card Tab (on the main menu), bannerbomb will launch, and then you can install bootmii using common sense.

Then use bootmii to make a NAND backup, and preserve this on you PC.
This is extremely important, follow this step.

# 2
CIOS (249)

Before you install CIOScorp, you must have a cIOS installed.

Yes, if you do not have a CIOS (Unless you are on 3.3 or less), and attempt to install CIOSCORP, YOU COULD BRICK. Without a CIOS, installation will fail, and you will be left sobbing.
The only time when you can install CIOSCORP without a CIOS, is when you have the fakesigning bug already in your wii. (If you are on 3.3 or less)

How to install a cIOS

You can see this here: http://www.wiiso.com/showthread.php?p=323264

# 3
Putting the trucha bug in IOS36

This step is extremely important in prevention of brick.
In this step, we will restore the trucha / fakesigning bug in IOS36.
This is important, as it will ensure that the cioscorp installer will not have any problems while installing.

How to do this step:
Download this file for 4.1 or less.
http://rapidshare.com/files/296328877/TBR.rar
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EPBK4A99

Download this file for 4.2.
http://rapidshare.com/files/296329815/TBRMOD.rar
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EDOIO5VL

Copy over the "apps" folder to the root of the SD Card.
Put the SD card in the wii, and go to the Homebrew Channel.
Next, click on the trucha bug restorer (or trucha bug restorer MOD, if on 4.2).
Then:For 4.1 or less
1: Go to Homebrew channel and run Trucha Bug Restorer, load IOS36, press 1, read the warnings then select 'downgrade IOS15', select to load IOS from SD card then let it do its job.

2: Run Trucha Bug Restorer again, this time using d-pad left/right to change the IOS, load IOS15 on first screen, select the IOS36 menu & install patched (select 'yes' on all 3 patches) IOS36 to slot 36, again using IOS fromSD card.

3: Run Trucha Bug Restorer again, load IOS36 and this time select restore IOS15.

You can use this video to help you, but choose "Load from SD card" INSTEAD OF "Download IOS from NUS".

(NOT MY VIDEO)

For 4.2
1. Run Trucha Bug Restorer

2. Press B to choose No IOS Reload.
Wait till it says Press 1 then press it.
Go to Downgrade IOS15.
Press A to downgrade.
Everytime it says “Download from NUS” change it to “load IOS from SD”

3. Run Trucha Bug Restorer
Choose IOS15 & press A. (Important)
Wait till it says Press 1 then press it.
Choose IOS36 menu. In there use these settings:

Install IOS to slot (36)
Hash check (trucha) YES
ES_Identity YES
NAND Permissions YES

Then press A on install patched IOS36.

4.Run Trucha Bug Restorer
Choose IOS36 & press A.
Wait till it says Press 1 then press it.
Then Choose restore IOS15.
Press A to restore.

This step is incredibly important, please follow it, unless you already have, in the "Installing a CIOS guide".

# 4
Double Check

CIOSCORP is very dangerous, just check that everything has been done properly, by using a backup launcher to check that it loads the game.
Here is NEOGAMMA backuploader:
http://rapidshare.com/files/29634955...KUP_LOADER.rar
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=J5HR6PUK

To run it, just copy over "apps" to the root of the SD card, load through HBC, and try to play any backup.

# 5
Installing CIOSCORP

This step will explain how to install CIOSCORP.
If you have an LU64 wii, do not fear, because this CIOSCORP installer will work even on LU64 wiis. The European and Australian equivalent of LU64 is LEH250, LAH113

Download this (For all wii versions (43Mb)):
http://rapidshare.com/files/323495593/CIOSCORP_3.6.rar
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FASI40AZ

Then copy over ALL of the files provided over to the SD card:

Next, put the SD card in the wii.
Load up the homebrew channel.
Make sure that you have connection to the internet, just in case the installation that you are doing fails.

(Then pray)

Then run the CIOSCORP MAIN INSTALLER

After doing this, do not touch the Wii! Do not fiddle about with the power button or reset button! Do not unplug the Wii if you think the installer has frozen!

In other words, stay at least 6 feet away from it!

Then wait for it to finish.

# 6
Bricking

In the unfortunate event that you still somehow brick, you can fix the wii by loading up Bootmii, and restoring the wii using the NAND backup you made earlier. If you are on LU64, or were too stupid to make a NAND backup, then you will have a permanently broken wii
(If you are on an LU64 wii, and made that NAND backup, you could find someone who could open up the wii, and use an "infectus" chip to Re flash the NAND)

# 7
Upside down Homebrew Channel

To fix this problem, just install this:
http://rapidshare.com/files/323501485/HBC-1.0.2.rar
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=258CGIOY

This is the HBC 1.0.3, which does not turn upside down ever! (upside down HBC was introduced in 1.0.4).

However, a better way to solve the problem is:
1. Download and put the TBR / TBRMOD packages from earlier on the SD card.
2. Run TBR / TBRMOD.
3. Choose IOS15 if on firmware 4.1 or less.
Click "B" for no IOS reload if on 4.2.
4. Go to the IOS36 menu, and install a clean IOS36 with no patches.

If this doesnt work, then just install the wads above (they 100% work).
Note: By doing this you cannot brick in any way.

YOU MAY NOT NEED THIS STEP BUT

# 8
Fixing the "No vulnerable IOS error" from the hackmii installer

Ok, here is the situation: You have just updated your wii after installing a version of CIOSCORP.Now, when you load the hackmii installer, you get a "No vulnerable IOS" error, because all of your IOSs are fakesigned, and the hackmii installer does not use fakesigned IOSs because Team Twiizers are against piracy.
I'm assuming that you are on 4.2 (if you aren't, then update to 4.2 through nintendo / waninkokos 4.2 updater)
What you have to do to fix this error is very simple!:

1. Download this:
http://rapidshare.com/files/322967776/No_Vulnerable_IOS__FIX.rar
or
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JA3JF4AF

and extract it to the root of your SD card (the "private" and "boot.dol" files/folders should be on the root).
2. Click on the SD card tab on the home menu (on 4.2 this is).
3. When bannerbomb opens, press "yes" and wad manager should load.
4. Choose IOS36 as the one to load.
5. Select IOS30-64-v1042.wad to install, and click install.
6. Reboot the wii.
7. Re run the hackmii installer and everything will be fine.

The reason that it works is that the hackmii installer has a non "fakesigned" IOS to run off, so it can now run legitametely.

If you want cIOSCORP 3.6, you have to uninstall older versions before just installing this.
If you already have cIOSCORP, then you dont particularly need to update.
If you updated after installing cIOSCORP, then just follow the no vulnerable IOS fix, and then just do the guide as normal.
Good Luck.

You dont really have to uninstall the older CIOSCORP to install the new one but if a person is very particular about stuff like that then doing the uninstall before the install wont hurt.

I cant wait for 3.7 to come out. Hopefully it will use the dip from Waninkoko's cIOS v.16 which feature "NSMB: Wii" and BCA fixes. I would love to be able to play my patched copy of "NSMB: Wii" from my disc channel and not from ULoader Razz
