Nintedo publishes Monster Hunter Tri
wrote:
In Japan and North America, Monster Hunter Tri is a Capcom game, developed, published and distributed by the company. But in Europe and Australia? It's now Nintendo's problem.
The announcement was made earlier today by Capcom, who say that while they'll still technically be acting as publisher, Nintendo will be "responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution" of the game in Europe and Australasia.
It'll be out in April. Expect to see a lot more marketing for the game than you otherwise would have. Oh, and maybe one or two of those black Wii/Monster Hunter Tri bundles (up top), too.

Better chance of sales.
Although I think they should get Nintendo to advertise it a lot in North America.

I hope they advertise it here in Denmark. The only ads i can find on the TV is a Just Dance, NSMB, and Wii Fit Plus ad.

Nintendo takes charge of Monster Hunter 3 in EUrope
*Edit*- Moved from wii games section to Latest Gaming News and Merged to similar topic
in an agreement with Capcom, Nintendo is now to be ""responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution" for Monster Hunter 3 in Europe and Australia.

This should mean a lot more marketing for this game compared to the usual for third-party titles on the Wii.
i reckon this is awesome news, nintendo will do the obvious and try to sell this to the expanded audience..
I believe that Capcom realizes that for MH3 to be successful outside of japan they need to appeal to more than the core gamer. They need to really sell the social aspect of the game that makes it so popular in Japan. Nintendo is better positioned and more experienced at selling to and reaching an expanded audience than Capcom, im just saying... and i believe thats what nintendo would do.

Interesting this move was made because Capcom is, i dont know.....a PUBLISHING company, stuff like this is what they're suppost to know how do appeal to the ppl, yes it might sell better because nintendo is taking over the marketing, but Capcom should learn how to appeal to a certain group, thats the point of a publishing company, this is such a fail for Capcom, hopefully nintendo doesnt put capcom's name on the game

Does this mean CAPCOM fails as a publisher? O:

It's a great idea. We all know how Monster Hunter barely sells outside of Europe, so it's the best idea since Chocolate Milk.

I find this deal to be similar to the one in March, 1994 when Nintendo published Mega Man 6 in North America for the NES (It was never released outside of Japan and North America). Let's just say it barely got any attention. But then again, the NES was on it's last leg and that leg was falling fast.
Since the Wii is in the middle of it's lifespan and that the Monster Hunter series is relatively popular, I say this is an good decision. Most Nintendo games do sell, even if they are just being published in certain region. Hopefully, that equals money for both companies.
