NEW 2-D SONIC GAME IN THE WORKS!!!

According to this article http://www.joystiq.com/2009/09/09/sega-making-all-new-2d-hi-def-sonic-game-for-2010/ SEGA is in the making of a new 2-D sonic game. Yes that's right. 2-D sonic is making a return! After a decade of failed games and newborn hate directed at him, it looks like sonic is getting back to his roots for the new decade. Lets just hope SEGA doesn't screw this one up (coz if they do then all hope for sonic is lost and he should be retired as a video game character).


Update: Wiiware version has been confirmed

Don't think this is bullshit either... because this cycle exists for almost every franchise... just not as bad or noticeable, but its there...

gotta admit, i fell for it twice this gen with sonic the hedgehog AND sonic unleashed. i've lost all hope in sonic now...especially after lookin at black knight(...glad i saw the crap in that commin a mile away after the first pic on nintendo power). i'm sorry, but sonic is now on my "couldn't care less" list...i've been hurt too many times.

I've never actually purchased a Sonic game. I've rented some, but never owned any. Yay!

I found out news that sega will only have sonic in this title so that means there not following the cycle of fail. (sorry didnt have an image) this is looking to be a good game they just mean to take their time b4 the f**k up a good project.

No it was just me, the other characters that they bring in almost every game get transferred into the comics

I want a game with multiplayer like the first few Sonic games... The most important part of what I said was "no multiplayer".
