Nintendo deserve's alot of credit.It was Nintendo,Sega and even Atari that are responsible for gaming today.Gaming would be the same today if it wasnt for them.

Sony on the other hand suck.It was them that ruined Sega and the dreamcast(which was a wonderful console).

MS took sega's place.They even made there console's closer like Sega's.Xbox is like an updated version of the Dreamcast.

I always felt that way too

I don't think sony ruined sega nor did the xbox, nintendo was still alive because they made the best games, for example, if sony went out of buisness and a new company came in, people would say it was because of that new company or other people would say sony just didn't make the better games and I think that sega just didn't follow up

If you look it up on the web Sony pretty much bought Sega's what was gonig to be exclusive's off them.

Sony offered Dev's more money if they made game's on there console instead of Sega's.Which pretty much screwed Sega

This behavior is normal of hardware developers. Hell, Sega's Strategy was to make the Dreamcast basically a NAOMI arcade board that was cheap and easy to develop games on. It worked to help get games on their console. Microsoft has done many things to buy exclusives up, Nintendo has done a lot to buy exclusives up, and Sony has done many things to buy exclusives up.

While Sega had strong development teams, they had some really bad business practices. Giving Tonka North American rights to the Sega Master System. Developing the 32x and Sega CD attachments for the Genesis (which it really didn't need). The Sega Saturn for being obscenely expensive, hard to develop for and poorly marketed.

As for the comment "Microsoft is the successor to Sega," a short answer to that is no. The very experience of what Sega brought is very different from what Microsoft brought. Sega feels distinctively classic console gaming and feels really Japanese. Microsoft feels really American. Even the RPGs were different.

But you have yet to provide sources of your statement. How about sources? It is normal for hardware developers to invest money into retaining exclusives. I already made that statement. I said it was normal for ALL HARDWARE DEVELOPERS. Bitching how Sony "destroyed" Sega via paying software developers to develop for their console.

Don't tell me to look up for your sources because as far as I am concerned, your sources are non-existent. Until you bring an article on sega's demise being directly correlated with Sony's bribing behaviors, I could can only assume that you are full of shit.

Why Sega went from first party to third? Simple, bad business and marketing strategies for the Saturn and Dreamcast lead to Sega's demise. Sony just made what was inevitable happen with the PS2.
