New Console Announced for March 9th

So apperently Sega is releasing a console on March 9th or in the March time frame. have anyone heard about this?

That's strange. They would have said something beforehand.

Nope.. if Sega does release a console, why would they said something about it instead of releasing it out of no where

It's supposed to be called the Sega Zone. All it's suppose to be is a Retro System of the old Sega Genesis, complete with motion controls.

Upgraded Genesis = Sells

might get it if it it $200 or less and has games i want.

If this thing is priced anywhere near the Wii's price then I say it would be a total rip off. You can just buy the Genesis games on Wii Shop or download Genesis roms for cheaper. Hell I think buying the old Genesis games themselves would be cheaper.

Before they can make an actual sega gaming console, they would have to drop support to all other companies.

I heard sony had HUGE announcements on the 10th. PSP2 news maybe.

My PSP 3000 has been thriving since I bought it in January. I can't wait for more news on the PSP 2, and if not PS4 then.

No Sony already said they wasn't gonna relase a new console for another 10 years. So has Microsoft and Nintendo.

No what they said was that they'd support the console for 10 years. And once a slim model of a PS comes out, a predocessor is on its way.

As the technology gets better, the generations will last longer. You can't expect the PS3's lifespan to last as long as the PS2's. I say we'll get a new Playstation around, maybe . . . 2015.

What you're thinking of is the popular speculation that this generation will last longer than any other;at the most, 10 years. It started 4 or 5 years ago so we can expect that new consoles may not arrive till around 2016 at the latest. Microsoft said they still have alot left in the 360 (because of NXE) and aren't working on a new console. Sony didn't say anything but they just released the Slim and rebranded the PS3, not to mention it's just starting to be profitable, so a 2016 release of the PS4 wouldn't be surprising but is unlikely; maybe 2013 is my guess. And Nintendo will probably start the next gen first just because it's becoming less popular faster, at least that's what sales suggest. Well there's a bunch of stuff to suggest a new Nintendo console but Miyamoto has confirmed they're working on new hardware so.

Why give it motion controls? How are you gonna use them in old 2d genesis games? Sounds like another fail decision from SEGA.....

SEGA is ahead of any other game company in other areas besides of course games

why would sony and microsoft already make a new console? they still have to release their freakin motion controls.......2011 release for a new console is doubtful....more like 2016. I'm gonna have to agree with TheRighteousFascist
