Monster Hunter Tri Demo Impressions Empty Monster Hunter Tri Demo Impressions

Post by snaredrums123 Wed Mar 10, 2010 6:54 pm

So, who else has the demo? I just got it today, and this being the first MH game I've ever played. I'm still getting used to it, but so far I am REALLY IMPRESSED Cool. The graphics are orgasmic, the monsters are well designed and really fun to fight, the controls are great (though it takes some getting used to with no lock on feature). I have a feeling I will be playing this demo a lot in the next couple of weeks.

I am using the Classic Controller (FAR superior to the Wii-mote and Nunchuck in this game). I am taking a liking to the longsword, but I haven't tried out all of the weapons yet.

I'll be honest, I haven't fought Queropeco yet. From what I've heard, he can be a bitch, so I'm trying to fight the Great Jaggi until I am skilled enough to take him on.

Anyway, this thread is made specifically for the MH3 demo. What are your impressions and thoughts?

Yeah, the release of monster hunter has made me realize that nintendo should make a main "Classic controller" and just make the wiimote/nunchuk another equal control scheme next generation in the same way the other companies are. Like a more wii-ish gamecube controller, a wiimote and nunchuk all released in the same package next generation. That's what I think. Anyways, how do you get the demo? Is it on the wii shop? Dang, I haven't even used my wii more than a few times since i got my ps3. I gotta get back to speed.

Go to gamestop and ask for the demo. I prefer Switch Axe over Long Sword

I just fought Queropeco, and holy S, he's hard. I haven't won yet, but I was pretty damn close! He was limping pretty heavily, and I was in the last five minutes, I thought I had him, them BOOM! I died! I didn't have enough time to catch up to him (he was on he other side of the map) so I just called it a night, and went to bed!

BTW, I changed my mind, the Great Sword is my favorite weapon.

EDIT: I JUST KILLED QUEROPECO! I played this song immediately afterwards!

I'm not kidding, it was awesome!

Quropecco seems too easy. I'll kill it 1st try, as soon as my demo comes in the mail (if it ever does).

Queropeco himself isn't too hard, it's the monsters that he calls (Rathalos mainly) that can be a bitch.

Then again, you seem more familiar with MH games, and this being my first one, of course I think he's hard.

Rathian isn't that hard, just the time limit they give you makes it so you can't kill it.

Rathian is the green one (and female), Rathalos is the red/black on (and male).
Best monsters in the game.

It's not Rathian in the demo, it's Rathalos.

But there are no Rathians in Monster Hunter Tri

This is a full list of all the monsters in MH3, no Rathians.

And the one in the demo looks like this

It's a Rathalos.

Whoops! Sorry, it is a Rathian! I just checked over the wiki again, and I missed it! Sorry, you were right.

amazing, simply amazing, the 1st thing i noticed> the graphics, unbelievably epic looking and beautiful i couldnt stop adjusting the cam just to look at the mountains, and whn i commented about it on youtube, a guy said the demo doesnt do the game justice and tht the demo graphics are crap compared to the full game, im like wow, i like the gameplay but i was disappointed tht tho u can use the classic controller, u cannot use the gamecube controller which i think i might have better control over thn my wiimote, i cant kill the main dinosaurs for shit D: or maybe cause i always pick the long sword guy

When I tried to fight Quropecco, it was going along fine, then some big ass dino with wings came and I was like, "WHO THE FUCK IS THIS?!?!"

But I beat him my first time with about 2min left with the Switch Axe. Razz

That would ruin it. I like it the way it is now because it's not easy.

I agree, having control of the camera is a plus for me, and it feels very intuitive.
