I need extreme Xbox help!

I just got error code E68 recently, and I've done every trick on YouTube to try to fix it. I even dismantled the plastic crap around the actual hard drive with a screwdriver, a wrench, a hammer, a spirit level (lol!), and my bare hands. Still, nothing works. Microsoft is charging me $119 to get it repaired, when I could just get a new HDD for $100 (why are they so expensive???). If any of you had this problem, or know how to fix it, could you let me know? I called customer support 3x and they all told me to buy a new HDD or get it repaired, instead of ways to fix it.

I've already tried:
-Aluminum Foil trick
-Blowing on the connectors
-Banging it on a desk
-AV cable trick
-HDTV switch trick
and my favorite,
-Throwing it out the window

Have you tried lightly hitting the thing? Works for me. I lightly hit, it FIXED!

However, I thing the E68 is more of a software failure not a hardware one.

Go on youtube.You might find a vid showing how to fix it simple.

Zero, I use the internet, crop a picture (if needed), and then delete said picture.

Yeah I tap it and hit it with the Spirit Level (lol!!!) a bit.

Some guys threw theirs out the window and it worked. Plus, it's fun because I yell, "FUCK YOU MICROSOFT!!!" while doing it.
