The Console War: Fourth Generation

This is the official debate for which console you think was the best during the fourth generation. The Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Sega Genesis, TurboGrafx-16, Neo Geo, or 4th generation Arcade games?

My vote goes to the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was one of the first systems I've ever played (That or the Nintendo 64). Tons of quality games were released on a regular bases up until near the end of it's lifespan. This was also more powerful then the TurboGrafx-16 and Sega Genesis, not to mention that it never suffered through an gaming drought like those consoles and while there was a few stinkers, the console never had a real problem with shovelware, as basically every company took it seriously.

There are good reasons why the SNES won the 4th generation console war and this was Nintendo's pinnicle period.

I would have to pick the SNES. Every game that I played was just awesome. I still play Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country

exactly. no other console that gen came close. the genesis was good, but compaired to the snes there was NO contest. the snes had THE best(and most)exclusives.

well its obvious the snes would get the crown all most everyone here are ninty loyalist lol

i actually prefer the turbo grafx 16 over the mega drive... nothing cant beat bloody wolf lol

agreed; same

well i never got a chance to play the genesis, turbo grafx, and neo geo. but i started out my gaming on the super nintendo. i had such good times with that console....super mario world, mario all stars, etc. those were good times

I know people are not gonna agree with me but...Neo Geo. The games were great. But that is now. In the early 90s...SNES. The Neo-Geo costs too much money.

NoelX2 choose Neo Geo. I personally disagree, but it's nice to have someone here who thinks differently.

When I saw that 1 vote for Neo-Geo, my mind exploded, "Who the FUCK picked Neo-Geo?!

But I agree that some of the games are pretty fun.
