Re: The Wii is Built to Last
The NES is the only Nintendo system that has even remotely common hardware failures, and the only problem that ever occurs is that the 72 pin gets worn out and needs to be replaced (an EASY do-it-yourself fix), and they fixed that problem with the NES 2 (which is why the rest of their cartridge systems were top-loaders instead of front-loaders; front-loading puts too much stress on the pins).sikokiller wrote:nintendo has been in this business for 25 years so its obvious the wii wont fail much .. even if alot od people played the wii it will still be a reliable hardware.. my nes is still kicking ass these days

Happened to me like 10 times, every time having Brawl in the Wii. Brawl doesn't have a single scratch and the Wii works perfectly fine, never got one of those cleaning kits or anything. Yet if I were to have a 360 do the same fall, the 360 wouldn't work and the disk would be in 5 million peices.

I got to admit, that gamecube story was the dumbest thing i've ever heard, but i'm still really impressed with how the gamecube held up, lol. *claps*

Re: The Wii is Built to Last
I read that someone's little brother or cousin managed to stuff some bread in their Wii (thinking that was how toast was made) and after managing to fork the majority of it out the Wii still worked perfectly. Microsoft and Sony could learn something....

Re: The Wii is Built to Last
Nintendo tends to make sturdy hardware. So did Sega. Too bad Sony and Microsoft will never learn.
Although Launch Gamecubes and Wiis had a fair shake of problems but they have been fixed pretty quickly. Disc reading errors happened on the Gamecube although it happened on the PS2 and Xbox as well.
The Wii had some issues. Things such as Dirty Lens. There are a few other issues that happened. Most are related to Launch Wiis.

As I said, Nintendo tends to make solid hardware. However, there are certain issues such as the Fan going out and the dirty lens and a few other issues but it is pretty small.

Re: The Wii is Built to Last
Another reason why I love Nintendo. They make excellent hardware and they don't fail for a very long time. Both PS2's that I had die, but my SNES is still in perfect condition.

Re: The Wii is Built to Last
Out of all of Nintendo's consoles I say the worst ones hardware-wise are the NES and N64. The only reason I put the N64 on here is because it just FREEZES so much ease. If you nearly nudge the cartridge, INSTANT KO. If you do not put the game in well enough it may jack up as you play the game. It disappoints me ho much of a better top loader the SNES was...
Re: The Wii is Built to Last
Nintendo said at they're confrence that they did Wii-search(a corny pun that regie used) and said that the wii is the most used console of the 3,so yeah.
